Business Internet
The primary goal of the AAPT Co-location Centre is to provide customers with a secure, high-quality environment to conduct business efficiently and profitably. These features highlight how we achieve our goal.

N +1 Redundancy Environment:
There is no single point of failure within the centre or the network it connects to. If one point does fail, the remaining 'n' component would take up the load with no reduction in performance or capacity.

Security:
Mission-critical Internet operations require the highest-level security features, and AAPT Co-location Centres deliver industry-leading, multi-layered, security. All areas of the centre are monitored and recorded using digitally recorded and archived Close Circuit Television, and all access points are controlled.

24 hour manned on site security guards:
AAPT uses security personnel from Chubb, one of the world's largest and best-known security agencies

CCTV:
All aspects of the facility are monitored and recorded via colour, hi-resolution video cameras. This data is then archived for 30 days.

Security screening:
Access to each facility is controlled by the customer. No individual will gain access to the facility without having his or her visit previously scheduled. AAPT has the ability to track individual people in all our facilities as the Hand Geometry readers required for access to the centre is time stamped.

Security management system:
All physical access to the facility is obtained via swipe card and pin access. The next level of security within the Data Centre is via hand biometrics. No one is allowed access to the facility without a pre-scheduled visit (except in the case of emergency). Access can be scheduled through our AAPT Support Centre, providing tickets with audit logs for all access.

Cable Distribution & Systems:
A customer will be presented with a Cat 6 Ethernet cable connected to the AAPT patch panel or for Internet access or Cross connections into other cabinets. All customer cabling will be secure from other customers within the facility ensuring complete security.

Secure Cage areas:
Customers can request a private cage to house equipment, provided they meet minimum two full cabinet requirements. Private cages are available in two, four, six, eight, ten, fifteen, twenty and larger rack sizes. AAPT provides you with the flexibility to purchase caged space without or without racks.

Secure Cabinets or Racking:
Racking is available upon request. AAPT uses standard rack dimensions of 53cm wide by 56cm deep by 210cm tall. These racks and cages have enough space suitable for servers requiring the markets most common equipment. Cables are presented by an above cable management system.

Secured Cabinet Area:
Customers needing less than the minimum requirement for private cages can purchase 1/3, 1/2 or full cabinet options. AAPT will provide a secure cabinet with lockable front and rear access no matter what the size. Cabinet specifications are 600 wide x 900 deep. These cabinets will therefore accommodate virtually any server requirement.

Equipment Staging Area:
The AAPT Co-location Centre is equipped with staging areas where customers can work on their equipment prior to entering the co-location area. Each staging area has access to network connectivity, power and storage lockers.

Customer Working Rooms:
Each AAPT Co-location Centre has cubicle workstations where customers can set up their laptops to check email, get onto the Internet, etc. Think of this as your remote office.

Network Operations Centre:
Each AAPT Co-location Centre has a Regional Operations Centre where technicians monitor the facility 24X7.

Power Distribution:
Conditioned DC power is available to customers. One AC power circuit is included with each cabinet rental, with the option of procuring additional circuits.

Fire Detection / Suppression:
AAPT Co-location Centres are protected with a dual-alarmed, dual-interlock multi-zoned, dry-pipe, water-based fire suppression system armed with sensory mechanisms (VESDA) to sample the air and sound alarms prior to pressurisation. Production area fire suppression is provided by a multi-zoned, pre-action, dry-pipe system. In order for the system to trip, multiple cross-linked events must occur. These include detection by ceiling mounted smoke-heads and smoke "sniffers" located throughout the facility. Lastly a sprinkler head must trip in order for the dry-pipe system to activate. Fire suppression is localised at the event point only.
