What payment methods will attract a surcharge?
The credit card surcharge will be applied to all credit card payments made through the Internet, over the telephone, direct debit of a credit card or BPay using a credit card.
Why is a surcharge being applied?
Payments made using credit card attract a higher cost to AAPT than other payment methods. AAPT offers a range of alternative payment methods that do not attract a surcharge.
Who will be surcharged?
The credit card surcharge will be applied to AAPT Business & Wholesale customers. AAPT consumer customers will not be surcharged. Business and Wholesale customers enjoy special rates from AAPT due to the volume of their business, and typically pay much larger amounts than consumer customers, and so attract much larger credit card fees. Surcharging of credit card payment of large business-to-business transactions is very much becoming the norm.
What are the surcharge rates?
Surcharge rates approximate AAPT’s credit card costs and are subject to change.
